Learn more about Vasco de Gama

1-The ship

Built in 2002, the MS Vasco de Gama was completely renovated in 2014. It is 75 meters long and 11.4 wide. The 25 members of its crew take care of the 142 passengers on board.

The quality of the ship's fittings and the top-of-the-range service of its hotels have earned it the award of four anchors (river navigation stars).

2-Adult activities and entertainment

The MS Vasco de Gama offers eight-day Douro cruises departing from and arriving in Porto. Along the water, the ship arrives at the heart of Regua, Vega de Terron, Barca d'Alva, Perradosa, Pinhao and Porto. A splendid navigation through vineyards classified as UNESCO heritage and vertiginous canyons. Stopovers give rise to excursions, included in the package, to the most prestigious sites in the region.

While sailing, the day is devoted to relaxation and contemplation: at the very top of the ship, the superb sun deck offers morning exercise sessions, a shaded terrace, deckchairs, a swimming pool and a panoramic view.

The playful and festive dimension of the cruise is very present aboard the MS Vasco de Gama! Every evening the crew organizes on and around the dance floor of the lounge bar, aperitifs, games, concerts and balls. We have fun there sometimes until the end of the night.

3-Restaurants, bars and lounges

Located at the very front of the main deck, the restaurant offers the best of French gastronomy. Always prepared with fresh products, the menus occasionally leave room for the most famous local specialities. Created especially for CroisiEurope by Serge Dubs, best sommelier in the world, the wine list will delight amateurs and connoisseurs.

Want to share a coffee or a drink? At the very front of the intermediate deck, the lounge bar offers a very complete menu in a comfortable space. A convivial moment between passengers without losing any of the landscapes that pass by thanks to the large bay windows on both sides.

4-Accommodation

The MS Vasco de Gama offers 71 cabins from 11 to 12.50 m². The main deck accommodates 15 double cabins with small windows, the middle deck 18 cabins with high sliding window and the upper deck 38 cabins with high sliding window. Two of the cabins on the upper deck also have a private terrace.

All cabins are equipped with reversible air conditioning, a television, an internal telephone, a safe, 220 V sockets, Wi-Fi, a bathroom with WC, a hair dryer, shower products and towels.

5-Environmental protection

On the Douro as everywhere in the world, CroisiEurope is committed to respecting the environment. The equipment of its ships meets the most demanding standards and the crew is trained in the right gestures. Supplies in short circuits and waste sorting contribute in particular to making cruising greener.
